When posting in the forum keep the following in mind:

• You must be 18 years or older to access this website (13 with parent or guarian approval). Please do not register unless you meet these requirements. Any users found violating this rule will be immediately removed.
• Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
• Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated.
• Flame Wars will not be tolerated.
• Do not post if you do not have anything constructive to say in the post.
• When posting in an existing thread, ensure that what you're posting is on-topic and relevant to the thread. If the content of your post will interfere with the current discussion, you should start a new thread.
• Your thread may be moved to a more appropriate forum at a moderator's discretion.
• Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully ... without insult and personal attack. Differing opinions is one of the things that make this site great.
• Do not post the same discussion in more than one forum. Duplicate discussions can be frustrating for other members. Try and pick the most relevant forum for your post. If you are unsure put it in the general discussion forum.
• There is no advertising allowed in the forums.
• Do not intentionally circumvent any other rule or measure explicitly stated elsewhere on the site.
• Discussion of illegal activities such as game piracy and other intellectual property violations or any topic that could be damaging to either XenoHeaven: The 'ETHOS' Sanctuary Community Forums Forum or any third party will be immediately removed.

By becoming a member you agreed to adhere to these guidelines. These guidelines are subject to change and a current version is always available in the forums. If you come across any violations to these guidelines or have any problems navigating the site, do not hesitate to let us know via email or the forums.

Mute them. Click on the user name, and click the red mute icon. Done! You will no longer see anything they post. (You can always unmute them later!)

Forum members can gain and lose points (a.k.a. "Gold") for various activities. This is an important part of keeping the forums spam-free and annoyance-free (as well as usable in the CSRPG!)

You receive points when:

• Another member views a thread you made for the first time (1 point)
• Someone replies in a thread you made for the first time (5 points)
• Someone gives your thread a rating (1 point for each star)
• Someone likes your post (1 point)

You lose points when:

• Someone dislikes your post (-1 point)
• Someone mutes you (-2 points)

As you gain points, you are able to do more on the forums

• Above 10 points your profile customizations (avatar, signature, etc.) will be visible to other users.
• Above 50 points you can access exclusive forum sections
• Above 100 points you can unlock advanced profile customizations and user titles

As you gain points, you are able to do less

• Below -10 points your are not allowed to post more than once per day.
• Below -50 points your are not allowed to make threads.
• Below -100 points you are by-default muted by all users, unless they unmute you.

Once you are comfortably above 100 points, you can spend spend any excess points on the Chrono Shock RPG.

Forum moderators have some actions they can take to make the forums better.

Suspending a member:

This gives a member a temporary timeout. The member can log in and edit thier profile, but they are unable to post or take other actions (such as rating threads/posts, or voting in polls). Suspensions can last for days or weeks.

Locking a member account:

This is like a permanent suspensions. A locked member account additionally cannot edit any of thier own account info. This is for bots and spammers.

Deleting a member account:

This is only available to admins. This deletes all of a user's posts and personal information.

This forum has advanced spam-prevention features.

Auto-locking

If a the spam-detection system determines that a new thread is spam, it will auto-lock it.

Auto-deleting

If a thread trips the highest level of spam detection (something that is obviously spam), it is deleted rather than being locked.

Disliking

You can help by disliking spam posts.
